Can anyone tell me where the best place to find a Cheap laptop is? I am looking for possible a Celeron or PII (PIII for right price.) I really just want it for a portable gaming machine!

I got a pretty good deal on Egghead through an auction. Of course, it seems my CC has been compromised now... Word of warning: get a name brand and avoid low cost generics. I've talked to several people who get a great deal with a company that won't exist to provide support in a year.

In my experience, the IWANNA thread is useless - nobody reads it. Unless people specifically sell something, nobody looks at that thread. On the other hand, simple browsing and discovering a thread with a request allows people like me (who don't want to sell or buy anything) to jump in and give a hand, only because they happen to know something which could be helpful.

I got my Toshiba from Egghead.com. It was refurbished by the manufacturer, and it came with a good price. B&M stores also have good deals, occasionally - check the places in your home town!

If you were in canada, I'd have recommended you Eurocom, a Canadian manufacturer who also sells at a discount its phased out models still in stock.
