laptops with dedicated video

Hello,

I've been searching for a basic laptop with a dedicated video card of 500mb for $400 or less and I can't seem to find anything. I am only finding the $600-$1000 customizable dells, hps, etc. I am just looking for something that can handle some basic video games from last year or so that don't require the crazy graphics power of the new stuff. But the onboard integrated 128mb video chips of the really cheap laptops I don't think would cut it. Advice?

$400? You'll be lucky if you can find an old C2D laptop without any discrete GPU. Gaming wise, you want at least a Radeon 5650 and those laptops are in the ~$800 range.

Hey, how's that search going for a brand new $10,000 car with Corvette performance? :hmm:

Seriously, you aren't finding one because it doesn't exist. "Basic laptop" and "discrete graphics" are like oil and water. If you really, really want discrete graphics and really, really only have $400 or less to spend, your only options are to buy off-lease, refurb/outlet or used.
