Laptops require more ram?

Is ram any different for laptops than desktops? I mean do you require more than usual? Like is getting 256mb a better idea than 128mb, more so than desktop? Thank you for your time. 🙂
 
Yeah, you are completely correct on that, laptops require just as much memory than a normal desktop computer.
Because they are built as if they are PCs - they're just mobile... smaller components

They don't inherently need more RAM then a desktop system of the same specs, but having a decent amount is nice so you won't have to keep accessing the HDD for data... less HDD usage=longer battery life.
