Laptops -Is this HDD speed too slow?

Evesham's laptops have 4200 hard drives. Somewhere else here I have read that 7200 may be available soon. And Rock have some 7200 HDD now.
Is it worth waiting, or are there likely to be issues - heat? noise?
Faster is more desirable but I don't want to have too much of either of those two problems?
Would a Voyager 64 series be really bottlenecked if i stayed with the 4200?
Comments please?

Well, not slow, currently laptop hard drive standard is at 4200rpm. But if you have a fast machine, and it's running a little slow, most likely the hard drive is the bottleneck of it.

I currently own a Hitachi 7K60 (7200RPM 60 Gigger), which gave me a performance boost dramatically from my 40 gig 4200rpm HDD.

I believe that Toshiba also has a 50 Gig 7200RPM drive out also.

Anyway though, if you don't do video editing/graphics/games on your laptop, you'll probably be satisfied with the 4200 rpm. But if you do do some of it or all of the above, it is definately worth your time to look into a faster hard drive.

Using a 4200 rpm notebook... working fine... but a 7200 rpm will be noticably faster..
