Laptops for the Christmas?

Their really is no price range, she is a woman so she would like a good looking computer.

my dad is buying it but i am helping him find exactly what she needs (customizing it or finding a good deal)

So is there any new technology coming out before Christmas that i should be looking at, or maybe certain deals?

I would love to get her a mac, but my dad doesn't think she would like it, even though macs are so easy for what she would be doing (internet, period. It's only internet and itunes and some camera stuff)

But doesn't sound like thats gonna happen, so i was thinking HP or Dell, neither one that great looking.

Also looking for a LIGHT laptop.-again HP and Dell ARENT that light.

I would love to buy a Sony, but i'm a bit scared to buy a computer from that company, how is the quality?

Not often i think about the lowest end of something for a computer/laptop.

You have no need of proformance so you'll save a lot that way. Size/weight will be what drives up the cost. And if it's ugly you'll proably be able to hire someone to air brush it for you (cost depends on how complex the patteren is + surface area).

Just make sure the CPU produces very little heat (for a CPU), a dual core would be nice but not needed.

There is also toshiba, gateway and alienware(i doubt this last one will be her cup of tea) to look at.

none of that airbrush stuff, but its not like im looking for a crap computer, i want something that lasts, but yea i mean weight will drive the cost up. I am not gonna have a PROBLEM if this computer is only using 10 percent of what i can do, thats a nice problem to have. So i want something decent but mobility will be nice and a good look

I just bought a d420 that weighs in at 3 pounds. Sony also has some ultraportables, but they are EXPENSIVE, yet sexy as hell.
