I can't find them on resellerratings.com I'm thinking about ordering a laptop battery from them. Anyone? Good or bad experience?

well ive never heard of them, if resellerratings doesnt have them listed, then well you are kinda taking your chances, they look somewhat reputable if a little pricey for some items .. maybe some other people on the boards have used them ..

If you can't find them on reseller ratings and no one on these forums can give you an idea, then I wouldn't buy from them. A lot of people are pretty naive. Con artists and bad businessmen know this, and that is how they get away with their poor business practices. In fact, I think it would be an even better idea to take your chances with ebay, because at least you can get the rating of a user.

randypj,

Bump for you,
and you should probably linkify their website so it's easy for people to go and look at.

Oh yeah, before buying, do this.

1. Call them. If you can get a real person on the phone within 10 minutes, then the company is looking good. Continue to step 2.
2. E-mail them one question with a general product inquiry, e.g. "do you carry this product?", and another one with a particular shopping question, e.g. "you advertize this on your site, is it in STOCK and when would I receive it if I ordered it today?". If you get anwers to both questions within 2 days, the company is looking good. You can order 🙂

NewEgg.com, mWave.com and Buy.com never failed the test, and all are pretty good companies. Some other companies, however, took forever to get back to me, and that's the kind of support they provide. They suck.

Linky......

Good suggestions, guys.

yeah, I'm a bit wary if they aren't on reseller. and, you're right.....buy.com and mwave are always the first two I check, then Computers4Sure. In fact, I guess they are about the only ones I order from. I know NewEgg has a good rep with y'all. I just haven't tried them yet. Also, Geeks have a good rep on Anandtech, but I'll never go through their crape again.

Vboy, I'll give 'em an email chance. Course, my cc will back me, so it would just be the hassle if they weren't legit. The laptop battery costs $200 thru Winbook or my local battery place. I can get the same from this vendor for $150.....so, it may be worth my time, to save $50. I'll hit them up about their battery warranty. In fact, they are the only place I can find that has the battery at a discount....which should maybe tell me something.

I'll post my results back.....for any of you that might wanna consider them in the future.

buy.com sucks... charged my debitit card for a product they didn't ship. At the time I had limited funds, wanted to buy it from somewhere else "if" they didn't have it in stock and ready to ship. Took me hours waiting on the phone to get someone to confirm cancellation of the order, then to free up my money took a few days! Haven't shopped there since... last I knew they had a very poor user rating.

me.....20+ orders with buy.com.....never a problem

buy.com reseller ratings = 4.8 with 1000+ respondents. High average. Not sucky, IMO. Now....if you are a WMC and still have issues......

Vboy, they got back with me promptly via email. Battery is in stock, but only a 90 day warranty vs. 1 yr warranty from my local vendor. Gotta pin the local vendor down to specifics on the warranty.
Thanks,
--Randy
