a friend of mine said u should remove the battery from a laptop when you're on ac power for extended periods of time. is that true? doesn't sound possible thoug, what happens if u trip the ac cord?
 
There is a moderate power cycling effect on the battery which reduces its operating life. It depends on how long your planning to leave it on AC power. Anything less than a week, I wouldnt bother.
