Need to get a fully loaded laptop, I can't seem to find any good systems with an AMD chip. Don't particularly want to resort to purchasing on Dell.com. Got any ideas??

Check out Toshiba's offerings... or search through some of the other threads. I know there have been other's about Laptop's.

HAHA they are being sued for their crappy laptops

My craptacular Compaq Persario has lasted through more airline miles than I could imagine. It also works well in the frozen tundra of Alaska and the desert heat of Southwest Asia. It has been dropped, kicked, stepped on and keeps on humming. It has an AMD K6-2 550 in it.

With the new HP/Compaq merger I hope the HP laptops take back burner to the Compaqs. We just bought 3 new HPs at work and they sucked out of the box. The Dells we have still work but all have different problems. They are beat to H3ll though, so no complaints here.

It sucks taking 2 laptops out in the field because one has network access and the other has a working COM port.

I was unable to find a "fully loaded" laptop with an AMD chip. I got a Dell Inspiron 8200 and I'm very happy with it.

BTW, as for Compaq... I worked on one for someone recently. It was such a hellish experience I told them NEVER to bring it back to me if it breaks again.

EDIT: I also had a chance to work with a newer Toshiba laptop (the one the lawsuit is about) and it was less than impressive. It was obvious that a lot of corners were cut to keep cost down.
