I am an amateur photographer and need to buy a laptop for editing the photos. Will you please recommend a laptop or the specs I must look at. If you already discussed this please tell me where to look for the discussion. Thanks!
 
You are an amateur photographer, but are you also an amateur/new at editing pictures? If yes, then there are other stuff you need to clarify : what sort of editing do you plan on? What software do you want to use? What will you do with the final output?

And of course, what camera(s) do you have?
 
I would get a quad core, with 8gb RAM, and an IPS screen, unless you're planning to use an external monitor. There are very few laptops with an IPS so your options are limited.
