I never had a laptop on my own, even though I have one provided by my company🙂

I plan to travel a lot , and I looking for some suggestions for light/powerfull/cheap latop:

at leat 1.4 ghz/512mb/wireless/dvd writer
around 1000$

If you have some suggestion for something good/reliable I might be looking at some strange brands as well(not just IBM/Dell/Compaq/toshiba..etc🙂
