laptop won't resume from sleep/hibernate with mouse/keyboard

pontifex

I have a Sager 8170 and I bought a wireless mouse and keyboard (logitech wave) so I can use my laptop connected to my LCD TV as sort of a HTPC.

I cannot get it to resume from sleep/hibernation with the wireless mouse or keyboard. I can;t get it to resume from a wired mouse or the built-in keyboard either.

I have to press the power button.

The devices are set to power on from sleep, the USB hubs in device manager are set to NOT power off.

Any ideas?

the only thing i could think of is to disable sleep and hibernate.

you might be able to use device manager to allow the keyboard to wakeup the device
i.e. device manager -> keyboards -> select the keyboard -> properties -> power management -> allow device to wake computer

you might also have to check the bios and/or stop the usb root hub from powering off

but i want it to sleep. maybe i should try to disable hibernate but leave sleep on. i don't think I ever tried to test it with just sleep, it was always in hibernate mode now that I think about it.

My notebooks were always like that. If they were put to sleep by closing the lid, then opening it up wakes them up. If they fall asleep open, then I have to push the power button.
