Laptop won't power down.

I don't know if this is a hardware or software issue but this laptop will not phyically power down when you shut down windows anymore. What might be the cause of that?

What are your power management settings in Control Panel?

It could be a process hanging up the system. The first thing you should do is start > run > msconfig > uncheck startup group & disable non-microsoft services > apply > reboot
