I had the computer in work, downloaded some files, etc, nothing unusual. I shut it down, brought it home, plugged in the power cable, and pressed the power button. It made the normal boot up sounds, then I heard the CD-ROM clicking briefly as it checked for a CD (also normal), then it turned itself off. I turned it on again, this time it stayed on, but nothing showed up on the screen. I couldn't hear any of the normal boot up soiunds, like the harddrive being accessed or anything like that. The only way I could turn it off was by holding down the power button.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? I've ordered one of those 2.5" IDE to USB converters so I can at least get my files off the hard drive. I've also tried plugging a monitor into the VGA output but nothing showed up at all, even after waiting until it -should- have booted up and then messing around with the monitor function key.
Any help hugely appreciated,
Thanks,
Stern
