Its a HP Pavilion ZX5369cl. It was given to me and i need to install an OS. There is no firmware updates for the drive. It will read commercially burned cd's just fine, but nothing i've burned with Nero. Could this be a Nero issue? Thanks.

Could be a burner hardware issue. Try burning without Nero - use Windows' built in burner as a sanity check. It could also be a media issue. And it could also be an issue with the lappie's CD/DVD drive. To isolate that, try a USB external.

To get the OS installed, use an original CD. :)

Don't think so - that model Pavilion is late 2006, early 2007.

It was given to me so i have no disk. I'll have to send away for a linux cd, or try burning with other software.
