Laptop wonderings

I'm tired of all these upgrades to my PC, eventually will quit with PC games, and have been interested in transporting it places, so I'm looking at a laptop solution and selling this load of a PC.

What should I look for, and who should I buy from? Sony, Dell, someone else?

Well, it depends on how much you want to spend, and how much of a replacement for the desktop you need. It sounds like you need a complete desktop substitute, so you'll probably have to deal with a 7 lb machine with 14" monitor, CD-ROM and floppy all built in.

Dell is good (along with others) because they have a 30 day money-back guarantee. I got a MUCH better deal with my machine which is the same as one of the Dell models (same OEM) but I didn't have that guarantee and I have to deal with this one annoying stuck pixel. So is one stuck pixel worth saving CAD$300? Yeah, probably, but it is still annoying.
