Bought a Dell D600 off of someone, but they no longer had the restore discs that Dell had sent them with the laptop - came with a formatted HDD.

I bought winxp pro and installed it, but it came up with a bunch of devices that I still needed to get drivers for from Dell. I believe I got them all but 1.
Ethernet Controller it says, but for some reason I'm having a hard time finding that exact driver on their site. I've listed the specs for the laptop below for anyone that can help.
The wireless nic now says its connected, but I can't get out to the web or ping any LAN IP - guessing its cause of the ethernet controller, but not sure. Could also be that the wireless nic isn't turned on, but I don't see any option for that on the laptop (like a button). Any help would be appreciated.
I installed an ATI radeon 8900 driver that was listed, but GOOD GOD is the resolution SUPPER SMALL now! Lowering it gives me an error that says something like: You've chosen a resolution lower then 1400x1680, etc, etc.
Thats pretty high res for only a 15" screen, haha.

What you should install:

Chipset
Dell System Software (installs some Windows updates in one neat package)
Video Driver
Other drivers
Dell Quickset, if you want to use the Dell power-program

Btw, searching with the service tag is still the same as searching without it. The download section just shows all the drivers that could run on all the hardware offered with that machine.

even WITH the service tag it brings up ALL those drivers, thats why I was looking to narrow it down.

Do you know what hardware you have in the machine? Edit: Nevermind. The only case where you really need to know is for the wireless card.

Chipset driver
Notebook System Software
Video Driver (ATI Mobility Radeon 9000)-->Only graphics option that was available on the D600 as far as I can tell
Trackpoint/Touchpad Driver
PCMCIA Controller Driver
Gigabit Ethernet Driver --> install the extra stuff if you want (just need the driver)
As far as the wireless driver goes, you'll have to figure out which wireless card you have in the machine since it looks like it shipped with a bunch of different types. Maybe try a program like Everest if you don't want to pop open the bottom of the machine with a screw driver.
Audio Driver
56k Modem --> You just need the driver, you can install the extra stuff if you want.
Dell Quickset Software

A16 BIOS if you want to install that too (you can check your BIOS's current version by hitting F2 or "Del" (It's switched between the two depending on what Dell model you have) to access the BIOS.
