This model will be available in few variants, but all of them feature the same graphics card — GeForce GTX 1070, and the same CPU — Intel i7 6700HQ. The cheapest variant doesn’t have have SSD. It will cost you 2000 EUR, but of course prices for other regions will be different (and so can the specs).

You have an option to choose ULTRA HD (3840×2160) model for 500 EUR more, but is it worth it? I think it depends on GTX 1070 mobile specs, and how they changed from desktop variant, because even GP104 can have trouble delivering very high framerate at 4K.

More importantly, this post from LaptopMedia confirms that NVIDIA is not using M postfix for their mobile Pascal series. Mobile GTX 1070 will also feature 8GB GDDR5 memory (and so does mobile GTX 1080).

Looks good. Hopefully we'll see more manufacturer's announcing 1080 and 1070 gtx laptops soon.

That's awesome! I'm saving up for a GTX980 laptop for my VR setup, but a 1070 model would be even better!

C'mon, MacBook Pro with a GeForce GTX 10xx GPU... although it's realistically going to be something like a mobile 1060 for the sake of power.

I just hope the price is more reasonable! Current GTX 980 (non-M) laptops are over $4000 Canadian... a ~$2000 price increase over the 970M variants, and $1000 more than a 980M.

Stupid.

That said, there was a leaked pic of a motherboard just like the Alienware Alpha but with the 1070 chip. I'd buy that instead if it's half the price!

In fact... that could be why they only just released a new Alpha using a desktop GTX 960... with power and thermals pretty close, the 960 variant may well just be a test run!

Clevo gaming laptops are getting NVIDIA GTX 1080, GTX 1070 mobile video cards:

http://www.newsmaritime.com/2016/cl...-nvidia-gtx-1080-gtx-1070-mobile-video-cards/

Man, I haven't had a Clevo in a long time! A GTX1080-equipped laptop would be SICK. 4ghz i7 + 64gb RAM + GTX1080 SLI would be amazing!

According to Video Cardz, Clevo Inc. has listed the product page for their P870DM notebooks with the GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 SLI cards. Besides that, Clevo’s GTX 1080 SLI model is much more better in performance than a desktop single ordinary GTX 1080 video card.

Moreover, Clevo’s upcoming laptop models like Clevo P870DM3-G and P870DM2-G will be coming with the new GTX 10 series video cards along a chipset of Intel Z170 and a CPU of Intel Core i7-6700K clocked at 4.0GHz. Besides, there are other models coming with the processing units i5-6500, i5-6600K and i7-6700.

According to Tweak Town sources, another important feature of Clevo gaming laptops is that the mobile GTX 1070/1080 video cards will come with resolution of 1080 pixels and screen displays of 4K. The gaming laptops of Clevo like P870DM coming with the mobile GTX 10 Series SLI cards can be soon utilized by gamers who wish to use 4K screens.
As far as the primary memory (RAM) of these products is considered, it has not been finally decided till now. Moreover, up to 64GB in DDR4 RAM can be supported by the Clevo notebooks. So in other words, the gamers will be able to get the best performance even with the GTX 1080 SLI setup and the i7-6700K processors.

...

As far as price is concerned, Clevo has not yet set it for their P870DM3 gaming laptops. However, it’s expected that the company’s notebooks coming with GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 cards will have prices of at least $1500 with the higher-end models would be costing $3000 approximately.

NVIDIA announced its mobile GTX 10-series graphics today, and there are a number of big PC vendors signed on... that's why you're seeing all the laptop news!

The big deal to me is the mobile GTX 1060. That's what could give you solid graphics performance in laptops that aren't chunky desktop replacements. Sadly, it doesn't sound like it's ending up in the MacBook Pro like I wanted... although I'll gladly take an AMD Polaris GPU in its place.

It's a reason I never became a fan of Apple computers. their offerings were lacking in this department when I was in the market to buy a PC.

Here is a fairly indepth video overview of the 1080, 1070, and 1060 gtx.
the benchmarks begin at about 9 minutes

I may be looking for a 980gtx based laptop on sale since it too is pretty much a minor variation on a desktop chip like the new gpus.

depends on how things look in upcoming benchmarks and how I think my gaming preferences will be in the next few years.

I'll stick with 1080p resolutions because my vision isn't 20/20

Here is a day old review of the new MSI 17" laptop with a 1080 gtx

The 10xxx series just made 9xxM Series obsolete if you are looking at buying new.

Sent from my overpriced Galaxy S6 Edge +

$4200 USD.... darn well better be!

The only thing that bothers me is that they don't offer a Xeon option. If you're going to spend the money, at least offer more cores!

12lb laptop? uhh no thanks.

I've had one before. They're not as bad as they sound, although it's really 15 pounds (3 pounds for the PSU, no joke). Just get a good-quality laptop backpack with padded straps & make sure you use both straps to distribute the weight. It's not any worse than carrying a couple of textbooks around.
