Got my friends laptop and he said he couldn't connect to any wireless network. I brought it home and when I boot it up it pops up a balloon saying there are wireless networks in range and to click on balloon to connect; if I click on the balloon it shows no networks in range and refreshing the network list doesn't help.
I thought maybe the wirless adapter in his laptop may be bad, so I plugged in a usb Belkin adapter I had; with Windows managing the network it has same problem as before, if I let the Belking utility manage the network, it works fine.
I think it has to be some kind of problem with the Windows Wireless Zero Configuration, but everything looks like it's working fine.... except it won't see any networks.
The laptop is an IBM T42 with an Intel 2200 B/G card, it's running XP sp3. I removed the Belkin adapter and software and rebooted, the Intel is set to let windows manage the settings and the wireless zero config service is started and running.
Any help would sure be appreciated.
