did microsoft release a patch to fix the usb bug on windows in laptops where it drained the battery or do i hav to do a manual override of registry or watever. appreciate the help
More explanation needed. I have had laptops since 1992 - now on my 6th. The last three have had USB ports, and run on Windows XP Pro. I have never had such a problem or heard of one. ???
Are you inferring that a USB device draws battery power when the laptop is off?
OK - I have an ordinary P4 mobile laptop, and I have 6 USB devices connected and all but the mouse are powered by an external powered hub. I see no drainage of the laptop battery to the mouse. Unless it is moved it is inert. And when the laptop is OFF - there is no power to any of the ports.
