I am really not tech savvy, which is why I've been using this website for years when I have really weird problems such as this:

First off, just to upgrade to windows 8.1 off the windows store was an absolute nightmare.

But after I finally got windows 8.1 installed on my Toshiba Qosmio laptop, I realized the graphics card is set as the intel chip. I know my laptop is suppose to have a Nvidia 6xx chip in it. Even when I right click on my wallpaper, the settings take forever to load. And there is no NVidia chip in device manager either. Just tried gaming for the first time on my laptop in a while, and notice things are choppy and slower then they should be and regularly gamed games.

Again, I'm def not tech savy. But can anyone help a poor fellow out?

Check in your bios to ensure that the Nvidia video card is set for default video.

After you check to insure that, then download the latest drivers from Nvidia.

Seems odd that it would not be showing up though. Maybe it is an "unknown" device. You might try to download and install the drivers first before checking the bios.
