Guys - I had my laptop set up through my dockingstation to use my 2nd monitor & kb/m as input & display. Then yesterday I turn it on, but the monitor doesn't kick in - only the laptop screen.
Now I had set the display settings to 16bit colour & 800*600 & it gave me an error, so I turned it back down to 256 & 640*480, but didn't seem to help.
I think it may be a refresh rate problem, but I don't see that option available in the display settings.

Anyone got some help for me ?? Running Win95

On my laptop, dual display enable/disable is set through the BIOS, then the usage (LCD, external, or both) is set through the Display Properties (under the Advanced settings, IIRC). Check both places.

I've seen a few programs that reset Display Properties back to Win95 defaults (usually "educational" games - makes one wonder just what they're trying to "teach" ). The Win95 default for laptop is LCD only, I believe.

thanks! damn that was fast.

I'll check the bios settings tonight - I have set the external monitor & it shows the Make & Model of the Monitor, just doesn't show anything :(

would moving to Win98 help ?

Don't know - I seldom use a dual display setup on the laptop (I have an XGA 13.3 LCD panel on it and we don't have anything around here that even comes close in clarity :) ), so I haven't tried comparing it. I have problems with Win98 on my laptop, but they are related to overall RAM and video RAM usage, not what kind of display I have. (Older laptop, uses a shared RAM setup for video use - as long as I forego the games, it's not a problem.)

heh, I just upgraded to 32mb module instead of 16mb for my Toshiba 100CS
Not really looking to play games with this, but I now have 2 dockingstations & would like to keep one @ home setup to a KVM & a set of inputs + display

I'll be checking these things tonight, thanks for your help
