So I have a thinkpad X61 with the intel wireless n, and a desktop with a Dlink wireless N adaptor, and a Dling 655 router. Basically if I click on the same download link on the internet the desktop moves at about .5mb/sec and the laptop about .25 mb/sec. Will the desktop always be better since it is matching brands? Or is there some sort of configuring I can do? I looked for a thread that talks about general wireless optimization but could do nothing, I just feel like the laptop isnt going at the speeds it should. What is the most trusted program/website to test your wireless speeds? thanks I know that was a lot

Are both computers in the exact/same physical location and each Antenna is exposed in exact same way to the Router?
