on a dell inspiron 5000, i just upgraded to XP home and now the volume buttons on the side of the case dont work. do they need drivers? or how to turn them on? or what?

thanks
david

I have a Gateway 9300cx, and when I upgraded to XP Pro, I had to reinstall the drivers for all those gee whiz buttons. Some are sound and some are programmable. Check Dell for the drivers.

aight, i think i got the volume buttons working, but is there a way to visually display that the volume is going UP/DOWN?

like HP makes the big green bars that come across the screen

anything like that?

thanks

Double click the "Volume" in the taskbar. Watch the "Master Volume" as you press the buttons.

hmm i still dont see how to get it to visually display that you are changing the volume.

do you know how to do this?

thanks
