I am looking at a laptop with a 7900 GO 256 meg nvidia card. Is this good? Any benchmarks I can look at to compare with a x1600 radeon or a 512 meg 7700 Nvidia card? Can anyone give me links or list me top 5 laptop video cards that are best for gaming?

7900 256MB > The 7700/x1600 by a pretty large margin

It will be more than fast enough to crank things pretty good @ 1280x800 or 1440x900. At 1680x1050, even the 7900 can't run extreme detail in current games. But high-end gaming on a notebook is a bloody expensive affair. A well-tuned $1,500 PC will usually murder a $4,000 notebook in basically everything.
