The new core duo video cards the Mobile Intel® 945PM Express in particular interest me alot. I was wondering what their performance could be compared to. I want something akin to a geforce 5500 or better. I know they fully support dx9 and supposedly use pciexpress x16. Does that mean that later i can take the lappy to a shop and have them replace the Mobile Intel® 945PM Express with a better video card? My problem is this i have about 1000 to spend on a laptop and the needs are this it need to be able to do some video and image rendering and encoding nothing to heavy simple stuff mainly but it does need to be able to do it and show me an accurate picture. I also will be using this laptop for light gaming I mainly only want to be able to run eq2 with min settings which as far as i can tell i can do this with this lappy. What do you guys think should i go with the core duo and the onboard graphics. If you know any suggesttions give it to me. I only have 1000$ max to spend though. PS i am completely open to refurbs as they have manufactur warenty on them and all the problems have been fixed. I also dont want a lappy over 7 lbs
