You can't buy laptop video cards because they're integrated into the laptop and are non-upgradeable. Therefore your only control over them is in picking which laptop you buy.

IIRC the best laptop videocard right now is the Radeon 7500 mobility chip.

no upgrade path
cause i was gonna get an athlon laptop and since most of those come with cheesy integrated graphics i was wanting to buy a good vid card and throw that in the sucker
guess that is a no go ??

yes, but only with Dell cards, and the cards for (say) an 8200 series might or might not work in an 8000 or 8100. It's still better than with other laptops though.
