Hope this is the right forum....

I have an HP NX6110 that just stopped working, plug it in and the charge light doesn't even come on. The power adapter works fine on other laptops so I know this isn't it. I guess my big question is if the processor is bad would that cause everything to stop functioning? I know with a desktop board you would get post codes if the processor was bad or not installed but with this I get nothing...I have stripped it down and everything looks good with no burn marks or anything, I don't have another processor to put in it andI don't want to waste my time with buying another if that isn't likely to be the issue. Any thoughts would be appreciated....

Thanks!

If the laptop won't even show the charge icon when plugged in it is most likely a motherboard issue

Kinda figured it would be the board but wasn't completely sure if laptops would react like desktop boards do since there is no charging circuitry, thanks...

Have you tried this . . . remove the battery, then connect the A/C adapter. Sometimes a bad battery blocks everything.

Yes I have tried most everything, including removing the battery, my last real thought was maybe the processor being bad would keep everything from functioning, I didn't think that would be the case but wanted to run it it by everyone and see if it was possible...thanks for the replies everyone...

If you get absolutely nothing, then it is not a processor problem. IF the machine has a power button board, like most Dell Latitudes have, it could be the culprit. I've had those die before, but if you don't even get lights saying it's charging, then I would vote, motherboard as well.
