Laptop troubles, no boot.

Powers on, but no fans. I hear the HD click, then nothing.
Any Ideas guys? The fan wont spin i see having removed the keyboard.

Is the cmos battery Required for pc to boot???

The CMOS battery is NOT required for booting, only required to maintain time and BIOS settings when the computer is off.

Try removing the laptop HDD and then attempt boot-up. If you get an OS not found, or if the laptop goes striaght into the BIOS, you know it is a dud HDD.

If it continues with the same NOTHING you get now, it could be a mainboard issue, or a power issue.
