Laptop touchpad mouse trouble!

I just got a new Laptop and with the touchpad, when I roll the curser over an item, such as the "x" to close out a window it automatically clicks it when I don't. Also, if I roll the pointer over an "ok" or "apply" button in Windows XP Home, it clicks it when I don't tell it to... Does anyone have any ideas??? Thanks!

Some lappy touchpads also can do the click/double click if you tap the pad.
Make sure you aren't 'tapping' the pad, and also, see if you can raise the double click sensitivity speed in Control panel/mouse.

If that doesn't fix it - look in software that came installed like chipset software, there may be a setting in there.
If nothing, take it back to the shop.
