any ideas? I have a glossy screen on my lenovo and it is virtually unreadable if i am sitting outside with the sunshining. Doesn't matter if i am under shade or not.

My netbook is not glossy and it is easier to read but I have to hold it inches away from my face to read it if i am in the sun.

So what do people do to read their laptops outside?

Lug a CRT monitor with you to use as external display, don't forget the power generator.

I've never had any luck with a matte screen or a glossy (even worse) outdoors with a lappie. But good luck on your endeavor!!
