Laptop TFT on Desktop

I have a Laptop that damaged except for the TFT. Is it possible to connect it to a desktop PC?

Sell the LCD panel and use the money toward a new LCD Monitor.

It would be cheaper and less headaches.

To use the panel on a Desktop, you need to buy a controller/interface card
for the particular brand you are using, which can be outrageously expensive,
and can also be very tough to find.
