Question for Arkaign -

I came across your post about system password removal for laptops and pretty much tried everything I could or knew how with the information that was given.

I cannot boot or go to a bios menu and the pc does not boot up, with bootfile missing. It just asks for the system password, which my client doesnt know of.

Here is my info
DELL INSPIRON M5010
Service Tag - D48LWM1

Express tag - 28554494041

Thanks for any help

Dell has a recovery password which you can obtain if you can validate yourself to Dell customer support. So you should ring Dell.

However if the laptop is stolen then there isn't (shouldn't) be any way to recovery the password.

Yep, find the password or you have a nice brick on your hand. Resetting the bios won't reset that admin password either.
