I pretty much want to watch DVDs and be somewhat productive on it with light coding. Compile times aren't a huge factor. Probably going to steer clear of Celeron, BUT Athlon intrigues me. I have an AMD proc for my desktop but I'm not sure how well they work in laptops. Compaq is the main supplier of AMD procs? or does eMachine have a pretty good one? I wouldn't mind a wide-screen but that wouldnt be a deal breaker. Would like 15" though.
I was initially trying to scope out a Dell deal, but now researching all the brands it seems like other companies are starting to come up to dell. Pretty sure I can't afford an IBM right now, and the laptop probably won't be used that rigirously. Weight is somewhat of an issue, but since I don't play on games on laptops that should help considerably shouldn't it? I've noticed the most heaviest laptops are usually the "gaming rigs". I want to be around 6 lbs but it's not a deal breaker. Price ~1000-1100. Thanks guys.
