Laptop Suggestion

Looking for a laptop that can run basic stuff like internet browsing, office, all that junk. Should be gaming worthy though; World of Warcraft, Guild Wars, CS Source, those are the main ones I play. I prefer under 6lbs, 14" screen (not really into widescreen, unless someone can convince me otherwise...and I know 14" is harder to find so I'm flexible on that). Under 1000 for sure, even better if under 800. I already have a stick of 1GB RAM (DDR) so memory is taken care of, and an external as well. Hmm, I think that's all the important info needed to get good responses, but if I missed something just let me know and I'll include it.

Unfortunately, I don't think you're going to be able to get everything you want in a laptop with that budget. Small and powerful laptops tend to be expensive; you will have to settle for a larger laptop if you want to play newer games.

Although, if you're willing to go used, you might want to look in to a used 14" Thinkpad T42 with a Mobility Radeon 9600. These are still on Lenovo's website for $1199, so you probably stand a chance at finding a second-hand one that fits within your budget. The 9600 is an older card, but it still performs fairly well - it shouldn't have a problem running WoW, GW, or even CS:S.

Hmm, that makes me sad. Lol. See, the thing is I like it to be mobile as well, so a 17" screen really isn't in my best interests. I've been looking around and I actually found quite a few 15-15.4" notebooks that will suit my needs, so I guess I'll have to scrap the 14" screen (although some widescreen 14" have some good video cards.....might have to look into that).
