Laptop suggestion to compete with ul30vt?

I'm about to be back in school and will be taking many drafting classes (autocad, inventor, microstation, yatta, yatta) and i'm looking for a powerful compact notebook for around $800.
I like the ul30vt because of its size, power, and options to use less power when not needed. I love the switchable videocards and 4gigs of ddr3 but im worried that theres another notebook out there with a better processor. I can't seem to find an i3 notebook with the specs i want for my price range. I definitely don't want to go over a 14" screen but its hard to find one with a videocard and processor for my price range. should i go ahead and buy?

The UL30Jt should be rolling out soon - a refresh with a new generation Nvidia card and a ULV i5/i7 (I forget which one it will use). Though, I can't tell you how soon it will ship.

I'm looking for a new notebook myself, but I want to see more Arrandale/Clarksdale (Core iX) ULV laptops, which aren't really out yet.
