Laptop sidescrolling in Firefox?

Is there any way to get sidescrolling to work in Firefox using the standard Synaptics stuff that most laptop pointing devices use? Sidescrolling works fine in plenty of other apps such as Chrome and Excel, but does nothing in Firefox.

Hmmm :hmm:...mine works in firefox without an issue under both Linux and Windows XP. Using the Dell Synaptics drivers on my 640m laptop under windows XP and Ubuntu default drivers.

Ah, I figured it out. This was on a Thinkpad, by the way - maybe the Thinkpad specific Synaptics drivers have an outdated .dat file or something. Anyways, all I had to do was open the tp4table.dat file in my Synaptics folder, and add this line:
*,*,firefox.exe,*,*,*,WheelVkey,0,9

Then I killed my SynTPEnh process and restarted it, and horizontal scrolling worked perfectly.
