Laptop showdown

What will you use it for, and why aren't you building a $1,000 gaming desktop instead?

I'd rather lug around 6.8 pounds than 7.7, but unless you're going to LAN parties do you need a portable gaming system?

Dave

i'm happy with my current gaming PC, see sig, i just need a good laptop, one with a decent graphics card so i can play occasionally while on the go. Sometimes i travel for weeks and i need something to entertain me lol. I'll play Age of Empires 3 and Civilization mostly.

thx

Looks to me like the Acer has a bit more power and a little bigger screen. I made that decision after only glancing at your choices for about 5 seconds.

I'd go with the Asus just because it's lighter. The larger screen might be nice, but anytime you have to carry it further than 10ft, you'll probably be cursing yourself for getting something larger/heavier. Consider some of the other Asus notebooks that are available with good graphics cards and come in smaller packages (ranging from 12-14").

Not so easy for me, i would prefer a lighter model but the processor on the Acer it's really hard to pass
