Laptop Screen Repolarization - Any Info?

This is a slight cross-post from notebookforums.com - trying to get some information. 🙂

Here's the summary: I had to choose between 1440x900 "normal", or 1900x1200 glossy. Because my notebook will be used for gaming a lot, I didn't want higher resolution because I'd have to stretch my games. The problem is, I like the way the glossy screen looks much better. When I saw both coatings side-by-side, it was like night and day. Much better viewing angle, crisp, vivid colors, and brighter in general.

I've found a few companies that will repolarize your existing laptop screen (put a glossy bright-style coating on it) for a fee ($100 and up depending on where you're looking). Unfortunately, none of them look very.. mainstream. I've never heard of any of them and trying to find product reviews isn't happening.

Does anyone know much about the process, or had it done before? How does it look? I'd love to have it done, but I'm not too keen on shipping my brand new laptop to some random company I've never heard of.

I wouldn't do that...I haven't heard of that process and as far as I know the differences between those two screens is more than just some coating that is put on.
