Laptop screen question

I am considering upgrading my laptop. I use it for GPS in the car, and the sun makes the screen unreadable. I have been advised that a dual-scan screen is better for this, but several laptop manufacturers say that TFT is better. I took a Sony Vaio with TFT out in the sun and couldn't even read the screen. Who is correct?

I'd have to say your eye's are.
compare them all in the sun and see whats best.
You might want to look for some type of anti-reflective screen cover.

what SONY are you looking at... I have the PCG-F540 which has the TFT 14.1 its not bad in the sun, but their new ones the XG series have a very cool filter on the screens which make them very very easy to see, check them out!
