I have a dell e1505 with ATI 1400 GPU and 1680x1050 screen.
The screen randomly refreshes (blinks) and its very annoying. Its the type of blinking that you would normally see when you press "OK" on any window to close it (for example, display properties).
I have reinstalled the catalyst drivers and it still does this.
Any ideas?
TIA.
Edit: did some digging, seems like this is common among people who:
1. ATI 1x00 mobile in their notebooks
2. Use a second display (DVI/VGA) for desktop spanning
3. The flicker is very quick, and you can see 640x480 text for an instant.
4. This happens on all available drivers, old and new, ATI or third-party.
5. Some people think it is a ground-loop through the second monitor corrupting the VGA card.
Any thoughts? I couldn't find any real cures for this problem...
