Laptop Runs 15 deg C Hotter After Windows Update

After an automatic windows update, my Toshiba Tecra 8200 kept shutting off by itself. The orange warning light would then come on indicating that the unit was over-heating. So I used system restore to undo the update and all was fine. Just to test system temperature, I installed one of those Clock Speed programs. So before the update, the temp was in the low 40's. After the update, temp was hitting the high 50's and then shut off. Anyone ever have this happened?
