I have a SONY laptop as mentioned as above, and it seems to be running hot. There is a small back story to it though:
About a year ago I spilled some tea on my laptop, don't know if that has any significance to the events that followed, but about 9 months later, my fan started to make clunkety noises, so I decided to get it replaced. After replacing the fan, it has been running hot - obviously when the fan was making noises it was also running hot, because (I assumed) it was running at the speeds that was required.
About two weeks ago, I downloaded a program called Notebook Hardware Control, and reading values from that, I can tell that my fan only kicks in at 106 degrees Celsius, which is really close to critical temperature of 110 Celsius. After it kicks in, it cools the laptop to ~90 C.
So, I come here to ask: what can I do to solve my problem? Is there a program that can let me control the fan speeds at desired temperatures? (Supposedly Notebook Hardware Control let's me, but I need an ACPI file to configure that, and I have no idea how to do that.)
Thanks in advance
