ok i am finally ditching the desktop for a more convenient laptop. Here are the two I am considering, please let me know what you guys think or have had experience with any of them

1. Fujitsu s2110
gonna upgrade to 1 gb ram and a faster harddrive (is there that much of a difference between a 4200rpm and 5400rpm hd?)
2. Averatec
havent heard much about this brand, but a friend has it and seems to like it. any inputs?

oh yeah, i want something that's super light weight and NO widescreens.

wrong forum?

Look at Lenovo laptops - the quality will be much better than the two you suggested.

i am the proud owner of a fujitsu s6000 and have loved every second of ownership. no problems, light and quick.

Of those two I would go with the Fujitsu, simply because of the Radeon x200 IGP.
The Centrino may have better battery life than the Turion, but being stuck with a GMA 900 would kill the deal for me.

buy fujitsu..

I do not think, you will see any noticable difference by upgrading from 4.2k to 5.4k rpm hd. why dont you directly upgrade to a 7.2k rpm hd?

Actually you don't see a huge difference going from 5400-->7200, anything is better than 4200 and 5400 is by far the best value right now.

Why are you posting in OT? These people will just spew whatever BS comes out today and most don't know what they're talking about. Post in the Notebook forum
