My laptop mouse touch pad has gone on the blink. I have little control over it and it moves the cursor on the screen by just waving my finger or hand in the AIR over the laptop. I've never seen anything like it and have no clue how to fix it. An Ihome plug-in USB optical mouse will not work for some reason. It's a Dell Inspiron 1545 that came out around 2009. I've tried all kinds of things but to no avail. Therefore, rather than paying $150 or something like that to get it fixed, I think it would be better to get an upgrade though I really like that solid hefty weighty laptop.
I would like to get a mid-range quality laptop. Maybe the latest or 6th generation that runs at about 3.4 ghz and which sells for under $500. Can anyone give any recommendations. I prefer to have a 15.6 inch screen like my Inspiron 1545. And it would be nice to have a USB 3.0 plug-in as well.
