Apparently I missed out on some Dell deals last week, but I'm in need of a laptop now. I need it to be fairly portable and it doesn't have to be ultra powerful or anything. Just reliable. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Apple: Ibook, Powerbook G4, or Macbook Pro

Apple makes great laptops you buy quality.. Dell is pretty good Ive already seen people install windows on there macbooks pro's so you could get a macbook pro and install windows and have mac os x in dual boot sound good?

I don't think you missed out on any amazing Dell deals from what i've been observing. IMO Dells are pretty reliable and cheap for the price you pay. If you want something rock solid, get an IBM. The IBM you won't get tired of but the dell will look pretty ugly after a year of abuse. i would know. The paint on the Dell's tend to wear off quickly if you aren't a neat freak.

In short, i would recommend an IBM laptop for stability and re-sale value (IBM Laptops tend to keep their values even after a year of use) and a dell for best price-performance ratio. Just dont expect to re-sell it for much.
