Laptop recommendation

I have never owned a laptop before but i'm to the point id like to get one. I've been using my mothers Samsung NC10 Netbook off and on and find it a bit small.

I'm thinking between 13-14"
Windows 7 preferably, but Windows 8 if its a good deal
Doesn't need to be an ultrabook but the lighter the better. Nothing heavy and bulky.
$500 max
Wont be gaming on it other than occasional flash games.
Word, excel, adobe reader, surfing, facebook, ATOT neffing, etc..

Any good or slick deals out there right now?
