Laptop recommendation?

Greetings,

I currently own an Apple Powerbook but now with the Intel switch, I want to sell it before it fully depreciates to 0. At any rate, I am buying a PC laptop and I can't figure out what to get. I see Pentium M, Centrino, Mobile Pentium 4, etc, etc, etc. The Pentium M ones have such a low clock speed so how do they compare to the mobile pentium 4's? I looked at some Toshiba's and the displayed seemed decent, but they were SO heavy.

I want to play some World of Warcraft and maybe a few other games here and there and then do the normal things like Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc. I would also like to have a 15" screen or around that size... the 17" screens are just too big to make it practical to travel with. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I'm really tired and going to bed, otherwise I would take more time to answer this 😉, but for now feel free to check out some of the resources at LaptopLogic:
Buyer's Guide: http://www.laptoplogic.com/resources/guides/4/1/1/
Although it is outdated, it will give you a decent intro to the PC offerings.

There is also a wealth of info on our forums for you to peruse.
A quick recommendation: WoW, some gaming, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, 15-->15.4"; I would say maybe an Asus Z71v (15.4" Centrino w/X700 graphics at an affordable price), one of the Acer 8100's (15.4" Centrino with X700 graphics) or an Acer Turion 64-based notebook (most come with X700 graphics). Also, Gateway is coming out with a new 15.4" Athlon 64 notebook that has X600 graphics for about $1300 MSRP. You can find more info in the LL forums under the Gateway section.

I can't think of any 15" notebooks that make decent gamers off the top of my head, I'll try again when I'm more awake 😉
