I'm also considering a 12" ibook, but I want to see what's new in the PC world. Portability is the most important thing. Then price. I'll still have a desktop so performance isn't that big of an issue. Just fast enough that I won't be twiddling my fingers waiting for it. I want something I can bring to the library and what not.

That is still very subjective. State your weight range; your desired CPU speed; Wi-Fi or regular Mobile CPU; Cost window; Memory; HDD size and type; CD/RW or DVD -R+R/RW/CD R/W; and general usage. (work, multimedia, games, movies, etc.) and desired resolution.

Anyway - it's a bump! 🙂

yeah, i do not mean to hijack but it is a very simliar thread...mine just didn't receive any response 😛

it is for college and is mainly for word processing, research, and internet. weight wise: smaller is better but if it saves hundreds or has better options, some heft is okay.

my budget is 1000-1200.

if i can, i would like to be able to purchase a laptop that would be able to hold some music (20-40gb) but not necessarily 100 gigs. also, i would like something that could support San Andreas when it arrives in June.

I have read many of the older threads here: i was thinking Asus or HP.

you need to look at the Fujitsu S6220 I believe. I have the older 6210 and I love it. Its under 4 pounds, has the capability to have 2 batteries in at once and looks fantastic! It has anything you could really want in a mobile laptop, I can even play WoW on it if I want.
