Laptop recommendation needed - engineering school

Hi all,

Which laptops would you recommend for school? Specifically for an engineering and physics heavy program? So it must have a dedicated numberpad, and other than that I'm mostly concerned with having a good screen, at least 1080p resolution, and a good processor, ability to upgrade to an SSD if it isn't already included.

Thanks!

Hello! People might be able to give better recommendations if you could let us know your preferred price range.

One laptop I think might fit your requirements would be one of the HP Envy 15 laptops. http://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/Laptops/hp-envy---15t-l4r36av-1
The Dell Inspiron 15 series also have number pads if I remember correctly.

In terms of processing power for general scientific use I would recommend anything with an Intel i5 or higher. Are there specific programs you are planning to run?

If you wanted something more expensive and nicer perhaps something like the Zenbook Pro UX 501.

Thanks. I'd like to keep it around $1500 or less. I also forgot to add that I want a backlit keyboard and I definitely don't want a 17" model. 14-15" should be perfect. Thanks. I'll take a look at the two you suggested.
