Laptop recommendation for $1300 or less..

I know there are a bunch of these topics but I was hoping you guys could help me out. I'm starting law school and would like a laptop with the following specs:

- 1300 bucks or less

- lightweight, mobile, and quiet

- wireless ready and all that (also need a floppy drive)

- keyboard must be very reliable and easy to type on as I will be doing a lot of typing

I'm pretty flexible. Would prefer a big screen but not a big deal. Just using this computer for net surfing, taking notes, word processing, occasional dvd watching, etc. Don't care much about the performance; not looking for desktop replacement here.

I was looking into the Inspiron 600m but I've heard a lot of bad things about the Inspirons. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

the 600m is a very nice machine IMO. Maybe you are thinking of the 8500 which has had a problem with the keyboard.

as I was reading your requirements I thought the 600m would be nice for you, even if it 'only' has a 14 inch screen.
